Sister's Cat, part 6
Now, for something important. My sister cat had some what of a relapse when she took him on her recent trip to MT. Now he has been to MT several times before, but it seems on this trip he developed some diarrhea after each travel on this last visit. However, now that he is back home, he has recovered quickly.

Sister's Cat, part 5
My sister took her cat to the vet to have him wighted today. He has gained 7 oz. Which is about a 5% weight gain for him. She also reports that he is now doing his furniture jumping that he been doing previously.
BTW this is the fifth post about my sister's cat, and I have to mention my princess. She just expressed her displeasure by running over the key board. She also glaring out the window. There seems to a dog outside her window. Thank goodness there is a screen between her and the dog or there would be dog running down the sidewalk without its head.

The sister's cat is eating everything put out for him, and is starting to put on weight. She is thinking of cutting back what she puts out for him. SO things are better.

Sister's Cat, part 3
My sister 's cat seems to be doing quit well. He is eating and drinking very well, and he is able to spit out the pills very well. My sister had an ointment compounded, so she could give him the medication by placing it on his ears. He on his way to recovery.

Sister's Cat, part 2
As a follow up to my previous blog, my sister told me that her cat seems to be doing better. Yesterday he ate 1/2 cup of food, which is the amount he should be eating for his size. He also has been drinking water frequently. He also is a lot more active than he had been. She is happy with his progress; the only problem now is that he now has the energy to fight the pills.

Sister's Cat
My sister has a little black tom cat, who has been losing weight lately. She took him to her vet and the little guy has an irritated bowel; he is now on steroids. She has been quit worried about his weight lose so far this summer, but this should help with the matter. She was very upset Friday when she got his diagnosis. I visited her that evening, and we were able to figure out how to get the medication into her cat. It a lot easier than we had thought it would be. We are now waiting to see the results of the medications.

Vacation

I made a trip to Montana in June. I grew up in Miles City, a town in the south-east corner of the state. My parents still live there. One of my sisters asked, if the siblings could help paint their house, and I went there to do that.
The first thing I experienced was the isolation of the place. I had just picked up my Droid phone, and was learning to use it. The problem in Miles City was the connection there was awful. The 3G connection at best was weak. (I really need to find where the towers are next time.) Also the were very few WiFi hot spots. There are no coffee shops that will let one have a free connection for a latte purchase. I did find a hot spot from a truck stop in the middle of the commercial road. However, I did not think the location was great for my uploads. Needless to say the AudioBoos that I had planned to post all went to hyper-space before I could post them.
The painting went well. The house is about 75% done. The high and heavy stuff was completed. The remaining work can be completed during the rest of the summer.
The Family was its usual. I have always liked the fact that I was 500 miles away from them. I did not drive, so the situation was easy to maintain. Now I have a sister in Denver, and I need to make a visit annually. A week long visit is really too long; it should be limited to a couple of the days.
Now my mother was in her usual form. This is woman, who has never seen a magazine that does not need to be saved. Her response to people noting that the piles are getting over her head is to put some in a paper bags and placing them in the front bedroom. Now there two things that keep this from getting out of hand: 1) she is only 5'2", and the piles never get so tall to hurt someone when they fell over, and 2) bags have mysteriously disappeared from the front bedroom.
She also is a person who must date all food products. Now there is no follow through with the dating. She does not throw ANYTHING out when it is outdated. (There was a four year old turkey discovered in her freezer, when it died last winter. The elves got to it.) She tried to serve some pickles that were very soft; they were 8 years old. Garbage.
My father was a different matter. He has started to go down hill some. He was diagnosed a couple years ago with Parkinson's disease. He was over whelmed with the painting. The last time the house was painted, he did it basically by himself. He had a lot of tools that he wanted us to use. We were trying to get the job done as fast as we could, and were not really listening to him. Actually I think it is good that there are somethings left that he could help do.
Over all I am glad to be back in Denver. Next year?

My Uncle Joe Died
My Uncle Joe died this week. He was my mother's last surviving sibling. He had lymphoma for several years. That said I want to say a few things about this man. He was a farmer, but his farm was not large enough to generate enough income to support his family, so he took on other jobs: rural mail carrier and school bus driver. The thing is these were jobs his community needed to have done, and he would have done them, if no one else stepped forward to do them. He was that way; if something needed to be done, he did it, and he would not necessarily expect any compensation.
He was also the family peace maker. He worked very hard to keep harmony in a family known for quick tempers and long memories. He was deeply hurt when the family of his middle brother stopped him from visiting him in the brother's final days.
While he quiet in final year, he would call my mother every couple of weeks just to see how she was doing. He was like that even when he was hurting very bad.
The thing he did for me was he taught me to drive. I was never good at that skill, which is why I stopped, when I got to a location with adequate public transportation. He had the patients to let me make all the mistakes I needed.
Uncle a lot people miss you already. Good bye.

Helping My Sister
I spent the day over at my sister's condo helping her get ready for the season. I worked in her little flower garden. I pulled the weeds and removed the leaf litter, so it would all look better. I also hosed down her patio furnisher. She paid me with breakfast and cat food; so Bonita and I are both well feed now.
